Q: Are elliptical machines better than treadmills for cardio workouts?
A: Yes and no. A treadmill is tough to beat in terms of just pure results. However, an elliptical is a much safer piece of equipment because it is low impact and thus easier on your knees, hips, and back. They also provide a bit of variety compared to just running or walking since they also can work your arms and abs.

Q: What is the difference between rear drive and front drive systems?
A: Front drive systems are built with the flywheel mechanism in front of you. This is normally a cheaper design, but also may require more maintenance and may make more noise than a rear drive system. Your body also may need to lean slightly forward to operate the machine instead of remaining upright as you would on a rear drive model.
